Our qualification to stand before God as a son and an heir!
Listen:
Many Christians struggle to relax in their relationship with God and are full of anxiety and fear due to a toxic works doctrine that is antithetical to the Gospel of grace. We need to understand Christ as our righteousness in contrast to human works as a means to merit anything from God. The righteousness of God is a Person, Jesus Christ, and we receive Him by faith in the Gospel! He is our qualification to stand confidently before God as a son and an heir.(Philippians 3:9, Romans 3:21-22, 2 Corinthians 5:21)
The Gospel is not just about “eternal savlation”, but confidence in our relationship with Christ. A correct understanding of Christ as our righteousness strengthens us to stand before God today without fear or condemnation.. (Romans 1:16-17, 2 Corinthians 5:10)
Instead of attempting to qualify and justify ourselves by our works, we need to have God Himself as our life (and righteousness) by faith in Christ. (Romans 3:24-25, Galatians 2:16, Ephesians 2:8-9)
