There are many aspects related to the death of Christ that are deeper than our surface understanding when we first get saved. Some examples of this include the fact that in His death, Christ abolished the handwriting and ordinances that were contrary and against us, did away with the Old Man and its natural strength, died once for all to the demands of sin and the Law for us, terminated Satan in His death and crucified us to the World in His death, and created the New Man on the cross. These and many other implications of Christ’s death and resurrection will be continually revealed to us throughout eternity.
Deeper Aspects of Christ’s Death
- A. Abolished handwriting and ordinances (Colossians 2:14)
- B. Did away with Old Man (Romans 6:6)

The Gospel is simple, profound, and infinitely deep, and that as we grow in our understanding of its implications, we can experience greater confidence and assurance in our relationship with Christ, empowering us to run to the Bema seat on the day of judgment without fear or condemnation.
