We used to be afraid of death.
Everything we did was about our fear of death.
But He is delivering us from that. He understands temptation. He has been tempted in every point, yet without sin. He knows what we are. Because of His experience, He can help those who are tempted.
In His divinity, He is the One who created everything and outlasts everything. In His Humanity (as the Seed of David), He resurrected and has been given the scepter that was promised (the rod of iron), and has sat down at the right hand of God (as a Man) having all authority in heaven and on earth.
He is the Author of a “great salvation” and is the Captain of our Salvation, and has become flesh and blood as we have so that He can become one with us.
He is our High Priest.
Based on this all of this, He is bringing us into glory. This is our calling.
The entirety of His Work by His Life to produce the many sons of God who are His Body – all of this makes up the content of our Profession.
"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Hebrews 4:15
