Our past is gone.

Everything so far has been about the Son, but now He mentions the heirs of salvation. Who are the heirs of salvation?  That is us.

There has been One Perfect Offering that has “forever perfected” those who are sanctified. That is us if we believe the Gospel.

The Gospel is a Message that we are all to hold fast to more than anything else.

We are not transformed by trying to do something.  We let go of everything and lay hold of Him, and sit under His speaking and His shining.

Remember that Ephesians 2 says that while we were dead in sins, God made us alive together with Christ and seated us together with Him in the heavenlies so that in the ages to come, He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ.

"And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:6-7

We are His masterpiece

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10

Colossians 3 says, “you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

We see and behold Christ.  He is our Salvation.

He was crowned for the suffering of death so that He might “taste death for every man.”  We know that the scriptures tell us that we were buried with Him in baptism into His death.

Reckon ourselves dead to sin and to the law.

"Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:1
"Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God." Romans 7:4

We have been forgiven.

He tasted the suffering that we deserved.  He drank the cup for us.

We do not hear a lot about how we were condemned.  We were both forgiven and we were condemned.  Sin had to be swallowed up, dealt with, and dethroned, and the old man had to be crucified.

"For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:" Romans 8:3
"Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." Romans 6:6

Wounded for our transgressions.

"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53:6

“Reckon yourself dead” and see yourself crucified with Him. Our death with Christ is an article of faith, and it is something we inherit.

Our sins have been fully condemned. Our past is gone.
