Admittedly, rewards are more mysterious–and are a mystery – because they are presented at a judgment seat shrouded in mystery. The Bema seat is a mystery that was hidden for people that hid in God.
"And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables." Mrk 4:11 "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in." Rom 11:25 "But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory." 1 Cor 2:7 "Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself" Eph 1:9 "Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ" Eph. 3:3-4 "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Col 1:27
These people are part of a new creation; a creation that was also a hidden mystery. Rewards for the glorified sons of God are related to the building up of the Body of Christ. Everything related to the Body of Christ is a mystery, hidden in God’s heart, from the foundation of the world – and not to be revealed until after the resurrection of Christ.
There is a group of people, called the Body of Christ, who are the children of God – the joint heirs of Jesus Christ.
"For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God." Rom 8:15-16
"Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ." Eph 1:2
They are the building of God and the habitation of God in Spirit.
"In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." Eph 2:21-22
They are the new creation of God, the masterpiece of God, and the workmanship of God.
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Eph 2:10
They are the Body of Christ, which is His “fullness”. That is all a mystery.
"Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all." Eph 1:23
