According to the scriptures, Christ is our righteousness, sanctification, reward, and life.
“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.” 1Co 1:30
“When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Col 3:4
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Joh 14:6
“After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.” Gen 15:1
Born again, believers have a desire to be holy (if they are healthy). Even Romans 7 says, “I delight in the Law of God in the inward man. But I see another law in my members (the Law of sin).
“I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man.” Rom 7:21-22
Christ is our sanctification!
Because of that other Law (the Law of sin) we are doomed to frustration if we take something other than Christ as our sanctification. Our sanctification is a Person!
