The genuine “work” is carried out throughout the New Testament ministry, which is the Service of the Body of Christ. The ministry is a “Fragrance” of Christ – it is an impartation of Christ – which is “life unto life” in those who are being saved.
"For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish." 2 Cor 2:15
It is a heavenly “writing” that makes us epistles of Christ. The shining letters of God’s own expression, His Word, are wrought into us. These letters will be read forever.
"2 "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward. "2 Cor 3:2-4
They will shine forever in Glory. This is the New Testament ministry of the Spirit, which gives life; and it excels in Glory and is a glory that remains.
"Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life." 2 Cor 3:6
