The Initial Infiltration Of The Church
Perhaps even more tragically, Jesus indicates in revelation 2 that the church in Thyatira was tolerating Jezebel. Of all the New Testament words of Jesus, these were perhaps the most severe:
Rev 2:20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. But unto you I say, and unto But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
Apparently, there were those who had infiltrated the church who were in touch with the “mysteries” – the “depths of Satan” that this religion represented. However we know from history that when the Roman Catholic Church brought Christians into the participation in pagan feasts, they changed the names so that the Christians believed they were participating in the worship of the Lord. The Bible was locked up from most of them. Jesus says “unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine,.I will put upon you none other burden.”
So, in the Church represented by Thyatira there is a mixture – Satanic agents of the mystery religions, in the spirit of Jezebel, bringing the worship of the Antichrist Babylonian Trinity right into the congregation of God’s people. Then there were those that did not know. They thought the statues were Mary and Jesus.
As the Bible was translated into German and the languages of the people and people became increasingly literate through the time of “enlightenment,” we know the story. People began to realize among other things that the Pope was not the Father and Head of the church. As we will see later, the title Pontifex Maximus designated him as the steward of the Babylonian Mystery Religion, deliberately trying to bring God’s people into the participation in the worship of a false Christ (Tammuz).
Jezebel’s infiltration at its peak is expressed when God’s people believe they are serving God but are actually involved with activities that are directed toward the advancement of Satan’s kingdom. Satan loves to do this – to involve God’s people in worship that is secretly directed at him.
This truly has to do with the “Deep things of Satan”. The Mystery religion began at Babel was now infiltrating the church, dressing itself in “Christian” terminology. This is accomplished through agents who are knowing participants.
