Calvin, this is inconsistent. Either you are fruit inspecting, (measuring fruit) as a metric of salvation, or you are not. You say you are not, but then what is the evidence you supply that I don’t believe? Can you bring evidence that I have a false gospel? Have I ever claimed that Christ is not in the believer and that we don’t have the Spirit and produce His fruit? My entire ministry is focused on the indwelling Christ, regeneration, walking according to the Spirit, and how fruit is borne, but I teach that the cross is the way. We have to see that we died with Christ, and learn to reckon ourselves dead with Him to sin and to the law in order to walk according to the Spirit and see His fruit in our life. Justification occurs with or without that “fruit” (which is a matter of growth), and justification comes as a result of FAITH. the way you know I have the FAITH is to listen to what I PROFESS to believe. What is is that I profess to believe that you have a problem with? What teaching of mine are you actually concerned with?
Mormons, Catholics, Jehovahs Witnesses, Church of Christ and Oneness Pentecostals and Muslims say they believe. But they either have another Jesus or another Gospel. You KNOW this, and you’re using this argument as a smoke screen.
You know that I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who became flesh and lived a perfect, sinless human life, and then went to the cross for our sins and shed His blood He was buried and rose on the third day for our justification. He has presented His blood as a propitiation not only for our sins but the sins of the whole world, and His salvation is available as a free gift to all who will simply believe, apart from any works. When we believe in Him, we are born of God, and sealed with His Holy Spirit, to begin a life of growing in the knowledge of God, which will have fruit in varying degrees depending on our condition. However, our condition does not determine our position and we have much to learn and unlearn when it comes to the matter of fruit bearing.
This is exactly what I teach, and I teach it quite in depth. So again, what is it that is wrong with my gospel that would lead you to say that I’m not a believer, or that I’m a false teacher? If you cannot quote it verbatim and in context and allow me to “Correct the teaching” if there’s a problem with it, (or show you how you are misunderstanding what I said or taking it out of context), then your issue is not about my teaching,. Instead, we’re back to “fruit inspection” which you’ve already said you’re not doing because you know better than that…
Or do you?!
Here is a link to the original email thread with Amanda, that originally infuriated you. You can see for yourself that I did not attack her (which I believe is the root of your offense).
