We receive grace as believers to know the Lord and inherit this wonderful destiny with Him. That is all by grace.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." Eph 2:8
What is the gift of God?
Actually, the faith itself is a gift.
Many believed on Jesus because of the miracles He did but He didn’t entrust Himself to any men because He knew what was in man.
"And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man." John 2:25
The flesh is fickle, and its ability to believe is not what God is looking at. He is looking at the faith of the Son of God.
“I was crucified with Christ it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives me and the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me." Gal 2:20
Peter says we have all obtained “like precious faith” which is more precious than gold that perishes, meaning it is incorruptible.
"Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 1:1
"That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:7
It is something from God.
