  • It is an atmosphere of sonship where we can stand and enjoy the Sweet Spot of His speaking.

C. Witness of sonship (Galatians 4:6-7)

  • The witness of sonship is that we are no longer slaves but sons, and if sons, then heirs.

III. The Spirit of Bondage and Fear

A. Associated with Mount Sinai and the giving of the law (Hebrews 12:18-24)

  • Mount Sinai represents an atmosphere of fear and trembling where people were afraid to approach God.
  • The giving of the law brought condemnation and death because no one could keep it perfectly.

B. Atmosphere of God’s speaking to slaves (Romans 8:15-17)

  • Before Christ, people were slaves to sin and death, living in fear and bondage.
  • The spirit of bondage and fear is an atmosphere of cowering in the perception of slaves.

  • The spirit of sonship allows us to come near to God through faith in the blood.
  • When we walk in the spirit, we can stand in the beloved Son and be accepted by God.

IV. The Sweet Spot

A. Standing in the atmosphere of sonship (Hebrews 1:3)

  • When we stand in the atmosphere of sonship, we can hear God’s voice and enjoy His presence.
  • We can experience the radiance of His glory and be transformed into His likeness.

B. Walking in the spirit through faith in the blood (Romans 8:14-17)

  • Walking in the spirit means living according to God’s will and not according to our fleshly desires.
  • Through faith in Christ’s blood, we have been adopted as sons and daughters of God and can call Him “Abba, Father.”

C. Inheritance as sons and daughters of God is the spirit (Galatians 4:6-7)

  • As sons and daughters of God, we have received the Holy Spirit who testifies that we are children of God.
  • We are no longer slaves but heirs, co-heirs with Christ who will inherit all things.
